California Center for Sustainable Energy

The California Center for Sustainable Energy (CCSE), a non-profit organization, is committed to the adoption of solar energy through financial incentives and technical assistance. CCSE conducts free solar workshops to help San Diego homeowners understand the benefits of a solar installation.

The California Center for Sustainable Energy also provides support and information for the ratepayer funded California Solar Initiative and education programs for homeowners, businesses, nonprofit organizations and the governments to employ renewable energy such as solar. Another major program undertaken by CCSE in San Diego is the Solar Water Heater Pilot Program.

The organization is also continuously working with the state policy makers to bring in positive changes to the existing solar incentive programs that can provide the needed encouragement for San Diego homeowners to invest in renewable energy sources.

The California Center for Sustainable Energy is an active participant in providing expertise to all the major renewable energy sources like fuel cells, solar PV, solar water heating systems, and wind energy.

CCSE also sponsors the annual Solar Energy Week in San Diego every October, which includes a tour of solar homes in the area, the one-day conference, commercial facilities solar tour and a family solar day at a local park.  More information can be found at
